The 2024/2025 report highlights a productive year for Little Hoole Parish Council, marked by continued community engagement, new projects, and infrastructural improvements.
Ongoing Projects:
- Summer Planting: Concluded successfully despite early challenges.
- Summer Events: Well-received, though one event was cancelled due to weather.
- Remembrance Day: Enhanced with additional poppies on lampposts.
- Christmas Display: Fell short of expectations; improvements planned for 2025.
New Initiatives:
- Dob Lane Orchard: 12 fruit trees planted in collaboration with county and borough councils.
- New Zip Line: Installed in the children’s playground; very popular.
- Mill Pond Restoration: Area cleared and pump installed; preservation guaranteed by Progress Housing.
- Parish Council Logo: A new logo was adopted to strengthen the council’s visual identity.
Support and Grants:
- Assisted Little Hoole Primary School PTA, Much Hoole Bowling Club, Walmer Bridge Village Hall, and a resident planting a memorial tree.
- Donated reflective tags to primary school pupils for safety.
- Provided shears to local footpath volunteer.
- Supported a resident with a planning concern.
Transport Achievement:
- Route 115 (Preston–Leyland–Chorley) was established, connecting residents to vital services. Timetables were hand-delivered to every household.
Closing Note:
Cllr Dryden expressed gratitude to councillors, volunteers, and residents for their contributions and reaffirmed the council’s commitment to a vibrant future for Little Hoole.
